Lodewijk Franciscus Hendrik ‘Louis’ Apol, born in
The Hague 1850, he died in The Hague 1936.
Louis Apol was an excellent painter of landscapes
with a preference for the woods in wintertime.
In 1880 he made a trip to Nova Zembla.
His work was exposed on numerous exhibitions
since 1866. Louis Apol got a Silver Medal in
1874 on an exhibition in Amsterdam and a Gold Medal
in 1898, Barcelona.
