Jan Jacob Spohler
1811-1866
Jan Jacob Spohler was born in Nederhorst den Berg in 1811,
he died in Amsterdam June 15th, 1866.
J.J. Spohler worked and lived in Amsterdam, Haarlem,
The Hague, Leiden, Rotterdam and Brussels.
Painter of winter- and summerlandscapes, but especially
winterviews with lots of iceskating and other figures.
In 1845 J.J. Spohler became member of the Koninklijke
Academie in Amsterdam (Royal Academy of Amsterdam).
Teacher of his son J.J.C. Spohler and W. Vester.
Exhibitions in Amsterdam, The Hague and Leeuwarden.
Works in possession of Teylers Stichting Haarlem and
the Kamper Museum.
