Anton Rudolf Mauve jr.
1876-1962
Anton Rudolf Mauve (1876 - 1962) (Anton Mauve jr), born in The Hague on December 10th, 1876. He died in Blaricum on September 1st, 1962. Son of Anton Mauve (1838-1888). Student at the Akademie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague and the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. He lived and worked in The Hague, Amsterdam, Laren, Avereest, Bussum and Blaricum. He was often on the island of Terschelling and travelled through France. A.R. Mauve was a painter, made drawings and etchings of seaviews, landscapes, figures and portraits. Works by A.R. Mauve are owned by the Singer Museum in Laren and the Rijkscollectie.
