Edward Cucuel
1875-1954
Edward Cucuel was born in San Francisco in 1875. He was an American illustrator and painter. When he was 14 years old he allready visited the local art school. Cucuel worked for some time as an illustrator with a newspaper. Than he left for Paris where he took lessons at the Académie Julien and l'Ecole des Beaux Arts. He went back to the United States in 1896, but only for a short time, he again returned to Paris and began to travel through Europe, he lived a short time in Berlin, Münich and in Switserland. After World War II he returned to the USA to settle in California where he lived till the end of his life in 1954.
