Piet van der Hem
1885-1961
Piet van der Hem was born in Wirdum in 1885, he died in The Hague 1961. Holland. Student of the Art School in Amsterdam. He lived in The Netherlands, France, Italy, Russia, Spain and after 1946 in The Hague, Holland. Piet van der Hem painted dancings, music-halls and Spanish dance-houses in the style of Toulouse Lautrec. He made portraits of the Dutch royal family. He was a political designer and designer of advertisements. Works by Piet van der Hem in numerous Dutch museums.
